The Best Weekender Bags of 2026 (After 20+ Weekends Away)
We packed five popular weekenders from Béis, Away, Antler, Samsonite and NOBL for real trips. One of them kept ending up by the front door on Friday night.
By Daniel Hartley | 6 October 2026
At BestLuggage we judge bags on actual trips, and we leave the brands' marketing at the door.
For this guide we took five weekenders on long weekends, train journeys and short flights, and scored them on what matters by Sunday night: how easily they pack, where the shoes go, how they carry and whether they'll last.
Every pick below comes from hands-on use plus a line-by-line check of each brand's own product page.
We've reviewed more than 200 travel products, and this list is what we'd tell a friend who goes away most weekends.

What We Look for in a Weekender Bag
Easy Access When You're on the Move
On a busy platform you want your phone or passport without unzipping the whole bag. A quick-access front pocket and a wide main opening make the biggest difference.
A Separate Home for Your Shoes
Shoes and toiletries have no business sitting on clean shirts. We gave credit to bags with their own zipped compartment for them, plus a padded spot for a laptop.
It Has to Carry Well
Top handles, a shoulder strap and a sleeve that slides over a suitcase handle all count. A weekender spends half its life riding on top of a roller.
Durability That Justifies the Price
We looked for water-resistant fabric, decent zips and a warranty that covers the bag itself. Several brands keep their long warranties for suitcases.
Looks Smart Without Trying
It should look right in a hotel lobby and on a train luggage rack. Clean lines and a good choice of colours scored well.
All five bags have something going for them, whether that's a low price, a huge capacity or a well-placed laptop pocket.
Only one of them got everything right for a typical two or three day trip.
Next up is a closer look at the weekender we'd buy again: the NOBL Weekender Bag.
Editor’s Pick – Best Overall Weekender for 2026
NOBL Weekender Bag
One thing that stood out straight away: the shoe compartment.
Plenty of weekenders still make you bag up your shoes and push them in with your shirts. NOBL gives them a ventilated bottom section with its own double zip, and after one trip we didn't want to go back.

What We Loved:
- Wire-frame opening that stays wide while you pack
- Ventilated, double-zip shoe compartment at the base
- Padded laptop pocket for 13" and 15" laptops, with a strap closure
- Back pocket that turns into a trolley sleeve
- Lifetime limited warranty and 100 days to return it
Things to Consider:
- There are no wheels, so a fully packed bag
sits on your shoulder or on top of a suitcase.
The Béis came close, and it costs less. The NOBL won on the opening, the warranty and the 100-day returns.
It's the bag we kept packing on Friday nights.
What We Noticed in Testing
1. A Frame That Holds the Top Open
The wire-frame opening pulls wide and stays put, so you can see the whole bag at once. Finding a charger stops being a fishing trip.
2. Shoes Go Downstairs
The bottom compartment zips all the way round and is ventilated, which you appreciate on the way home when your trainers have done two days of walking.
3. A Proper Spot for the Laptop
A padded pocket with a strap closure takes 13" and 15" laptops. The strap stops it sliding about while you pack round it.
4. It Rides on Your Suitcase
The zipped back pocket opens out into a trolley sleeve and slides over a suitcase handle. Zip it shut and it goes back to being a pocket.
5. Built for Real Weather
It's made from water-resistant materials including vegan leather, the top handles are reinforced, and the warranty covers the zips and materials for life.
Where It Earned Its Place
- Last-minute packing for a two or three day trip
- Keeping muddy trainers away from clean clothes
- Riding on a carry-on handle through busy stations
- Getting the laptop out at the hotel desk without unpacking
- Weekends where one bag had to do everything
Field-Tested: What a Real Owner Packed
"The weekender has a good size shoe area. I was able to put my snow boots in there and regular shoes on the way back."

Béis The Weekender
The closest rival to the NOBL. It has a zip-around bottom compartment for shoes that unzips into one big space when you need it, a trolley pass-through and a padded laptop pocket that takes up to 16 inches. At £101 it also costs less. It lost ground on the warranty and the soft opening.
Things we liked:
- Bottom shoe compartment that unzips into one big space
- Trolley pass-through that doubles as a pocket
- Padded laptop pocket with a magnetic closure, up to 16"
- £101, the second-cheapest bag in our test
Where it falls short:
- Béis keeps its lifetime warranty for luggage, not this bag
- Soft opening with no frame to hold it wide
- Returns within 45 days, minus a handling fee
Away The Weekender
The smartest-looking bag of the five, in water-repellent nylon with leather trim. Its padded laptop pocket sits on the outside and takes up to 16 inches, which helps at security. It's also the priciest here at £228, there's no separate shoe compartment, and Away covers its bags for one year.
Things we liked:
- Outside laptop pocket for up to 16", with a magnetic zip
- Water-repellent nylon with leather trim
- Detachable padded shoulder strap
- 100 days to return it, as long as it's unused
Where it falls short:
- No separate compartment for shoes
- £228, the most expensive bag we tested
- One-year warranty on bags
Antler Essential Weekender Bag
If you want a light bag on a budget, this is the one: 0.8 kg and £80. It's made from 100% recycled ripstop with a water-resistant finish, and the padded compartment fits 14" and 16" laptops. Shoes go in with everything else, though, and it fixes to a suitcase with a single strap.
Things we liked:
- Just 0.8 kg and £80
- Padded laptop compartment for 14" and 16" laptops
- 100% recycled ripstop with a water-resistant finish
Where it falls short:
- No separate shoe compartment
- Fixes to a suitcase handle by one strap
- Antler's lifetime warranty is for its suitcases
Samsonite Outtrax Duffle L (100/120 L)
A proper expedition duffle: 100 litres that expands to 120, TPU-coated ripstop and backpack straps for when you need your hands free. That's a lot more bag than a weekend needs. At 69 cm long it belongs in the hold, and Samsonite lists no laptop sleeve or trolley sleeve.
Things we liked:
- Expands from 100 to 120 litres
- Water-resistant, TPU-coated ripstop
- Removable backpack straps for hands-free carrying
Where it falls short:
- At 69 cm long, too big for most cabin limits
- No laptop sleeve or trolley sleeve listed
- Only 14 days to return it
Our Top Pick:
NOBL Weekender Bag
The weekender with a separate shoe compartment, a padded laptop pocket and a sleeve that slides over your suitcase handle.

Our Final Take: The NOBL Weekender Is the One to Buy
After the packing, the spec checks and a lot of owner reviews, here's where we landed:
The NOBL Weekender Bag is the one we kept reaching for.
It has the shoe compartment and trolley sleeve that made the Béis our runner-up, then adds a wire-frame opening, a lifetime limited warranty and 100 days to change your mind.
If you go away most weekends and want one bag that handles the lot, this is the weekender we'd recommend.

NOBL by the Numbers
Key Questions We Asked (and Answered) About the NOBL Weekender
Yes. It's a ventilated bottom section with its own double zip that runs all the way round, so shoes, toiletries and other travel bits stay away from your clothes.
The padded pocket takes 13" and 15" laptops and has a strap to hold them in place. If you carry a 16" machine, the Béis, Away and Antler bags all take one.
The zipped pocket on the back opens at the bottom, and you slide it down over your suitcase handle. Zip it closed again and it's an extra pocket.
They share the big ideas: a bottom shoe compartment and a trolley sleeve. The Béis is cheaper at £101 and fits a 16" laptop. The NOBL adds the wire-frame opening, a lifetime limited warranty and 100-day returns.
NOBL's lifetime limited warranty covers the zips, the materials and every working part. If there's a manufacturing fault, they repair or replace the bag wherever you are.
NOBL pitches it for carry-on use, and it measures 35 x 46 x 24 cm. Cabin limits vary between airlines, so check yours before you fly, especially if you pack it full.
