Do You Want a Better Traditional Carry-On, or a Carry-On That Does More?
Monos helped define the modern premium carry-on: clean design, smooth wheels, a hard shell, and organized packing.
NOBL keeps the premium look, then builds more of the trip into the suitcase itself.
The question is simple:
We compared NOBL and Monos across the four areas that matter most when you travel.

At a Glance
Monos refines the traditional carry-on.
NOBL turns the carry-on into a complete travel system.
1. Security
Locking the Zipper vs Removing It
Most travelers see a TSA lock and assume the entire suitcase is secure.
But on traditional luggage, the lock only holds two zipper pulls together. A flexible zipper track still runs around the case.
Push a ballpoint pen between the zipper teeth and the track can separate, even while the zipper pulls remain locked together. The opening can then be moved around the case and, on some zippers, closed again by running the pulls over it.
That is the hidden weakness: the lock may stay closed while the zipper beside it is opened.
That matters during gate checks, hotel storage, and rental-car stops, when your passport, electronics, medication, and clothing may be out of sight.
Both carry-ons use TSA-compatible locks. The real difference is what those locks protect.
| Security Feature | NOBL | Monos |
|---|---|---|
| Main closure | Zipper-free rigid frame | Reverse-coil zipper |
| Number of locks | Two | One |
| Aluminum-reinforced frame | Yes | No |
Monos secures two zipper pulls with one lock while the zipper track still surrounds the case.
NOBL removes the primary zipper completely and closes with two TSA-approved combination locks.
Bring the two rigid sides together. Press them into the aluminum-reinforced frame. Click both locks closed.
There is no zipper track for a pen to split, and no zipper pull carrying the pressure of a suitcase packed to the limit.
The Verdict
Monos locks the zipper. NOBL removes it.
If zipper-free security matters to you, NOBL is the clear choice.
2. Airport Convenience
What Does the Carry-On Do Between Security and Boarding?
The hardest part of the airport is not rolling the suitcase. It is everything else you are trying to manage at the same time.
Coffee in one hand. Phone in the other. Passport coming out. Laptop buried inside. Battery dropping while every outlet is taken.
A premium carry-on should reduce that stress, not roll beside you while you handle it alone.
Monos stores your belongings. NOBL also handles the things normally left in your hands.
| Airport Moment | NOBL | Monos |
|---|---|---|
| Coffee | Built-in cup holder | Keep holding it |
| Phone | Built-in phone mount | Hold it or set it down |
| Low battery | USB and USB-C charging access | Find an outlet or open the bag |
| Laptop | Dedicated front compartment | Open the main case or carry another bag |
| Gate-checked bag | Free NOBL Air™ included | Buy and pack a separate tracker |
The difference shows up in motion:
- Slide your coffee into the holder instead of setting it on the floor.
- Rest your phone on the handle instead of balancing it on your knee.
- Plug into the exterior port instead of opening the case for your power bank.
- Pull your laptop from the front pocket instead of exposing everything you packed.
- Check the included tracker instead of waiting for the airline to update you.
The Verdict
Plug in your phone. Set down your coffee. Keep moving.
Monos organizes what goes inside the suitcase. NOBL also organizes the airport happening around it.
3. Packing and Access
Raw Space vs an Organized Trip
More space does not always mean an easier trip.
Without the right organization, extra room becomes more clothing to dig through, toiletries mixed with everything else, a passport with no proper place, and a laptop that forces you to open the whole case in public.
The goal is not to fill the largest empty box. It is to pack the whole trip without the overpacking fight, and still reach what you need along the way.
Monos lists more raw liters. NOBL focuses on what the organized space can do, and how easily the case closes when you use it.
| Packing Feature | NOBL | Monos |
|---|---|---|
| Published trip length | Up to seven days | Two to five days |
| Compression | Yes | Yes |
| Front laptop access | Fits laptops up to 16 inches | Not on the standard Carry-On |
| Toiletry organization | Water-resistant toiletry pocket | Interior pockets and accessories |
| Passport storage | Dedicated passport sleeve | General interior storage |
NOBL's organized 35L compression system fits up to seven days of outfits, plus your laptop and airport essentials.
Pack the clothing. Pull the compression system tight. Zip liquids into the water-resistant toiletry pocket. Slide your passport into its sleeve and your laptop into the separate front compartment.
Then bring the rigid sides together and click the two locks closed.
With a full zippered suitcase, the final step can become a wrestling match: press both sides down, hold the corners together, and pull the zipper around a case pushing back from the inside. More pressure lands on the zipper teeth and pulls.
NOBL's compression system handles the pressure inside the case before you close the rigid frame.
Everything stays together and easy to reach, so you can pack for the whole trip without sitting on the suitcase or fighting the zipper around every corner.
The Verdict
Monos gives you space. NOBL compresses it, organizes it, and clicks it closed.
4. Movement
The Quiet Glide You Notice Across the Whole Airport
Bad wheels turn every terminal into a dragging match. They catch, wobble, and make a heavy case feel even heavier.
Monos also puts real emphasis on smooth wheels. This is not a Monos weakness.
But NOBL travelers consistently notice how quietly and easily the All-in-One moves across both hard floors and carpet.
| Movement Feature | NOBL | Monos |
|---|---|---|
| Wheel movement | Smooth 360° spinner wheels | Smooth 360° spinner wheels |
| Direction changes | Pivot and move in every direction | Pivot and move in every direction |
| NOBL construction benefit | Permanently attached for strength and stability | Not applicable |
| What comes with the glide | Hard frame, dual locks, holders, charging, tracking and front access | Traditional carry-on construction |
Push it beside you. Turn it through a crowded line. Move from carpet to hard floor without dragging the case behind you.
The wheels stay smooth and quiet while the hard-frame construction keeps the suitcase feeling stable.
The Verdict
Both brands roll smoothly. NOBL pairs that glide with everything else the All-in-One does.
5. Trial, Warranty, and Value
Similar Price. Very Different Amount Built In.
You do not learn whether a carry-on works by rolling it across your living-room floor.
You learn when the security line is moving, your phone is dying, the gate agent takes the bag, and you still have the entire trip ahead of you.
That is why the value of a carry-on is bigger than its price tag. It is what comes built in, what happens when something goes wrong, and whether you can test it where luggage actually matters.
| Purchase Comparison | NOBL | Monos |
|---|---|---|
| Regular/current comparison price | $259 current offer | $275 regular price |
| 100-day trial | Flight-test it on real trips | At home; must remain unused |
| Warranty | Lifetime warranty | Limited lifetime warranty |
| Real-time tracker | Free NOBL Air™ included | Buy separately |
| Protective cover | Included | Buy separately |
| Built-in airport tools | Five | None of the five compared tools |
18+ Features. About $15 Each.
At $259, NOBL gives you 18+ features and included benefits for about $15 each.
That includes the premium carry-on essentials plus zipper-free security, charging, tracking, front access, hands-free holders, a protective cover, a 100-day real-trip guarantee, and a lifetime warranty.
The Verdict
Monos charges a premium price for a refined traditional carry-on. NOBL builds more into the premium experience, at a lower current price.
